1. I’m “writing” a book

I need a project. One that is made by me, and - mostly - for me. It also needs to be non-digital (my life entails enough software and application design already). I think I also want it to be a long-term project. I don’t want to crank it out. I don’t want it to take a week, or a month, or a year. Despite the passion, short term projects just never seem to have enough soul. After a bit of thought, I’ve decided I’m going to “write” a book. Write is in quotes because very little writing is involved. This book will be a collection and synthesis of found marginalia. My current plan is to discover marginalia in old used books, omit the published text (which will be the extent of my project’s digital nature), and compose said marginalia-laden pages into a narrative. I think it will make for a great coffee table book.

I’m writing this here to hold myself accountable.
